Village Clerk

Duties of the Village Clerk:

The office of the Village Clerk serves as the information center of the Village and the day-to-day administrative duties.  The Clerk’s duties include records management  such as meeting minutes, ordinances, resolutions, deeds and agreements.  The importance of recording and preserving the official action of the Village’s legislative body cannot be overstated.   Years from now all that will remain of the Village documents will be these records.  The Clerk is responsible for the preparation of the Council meeting agenda packets, meeting notices, public hearings, and administration of the oaths of office.  Presents proposed budget to Village President.

The Clerk is the designated Freedom of Information Coordinator for the Village of Kent City.  Some inquiries may require a Freedom of Information request.

As mandated by the State, Village elections will be administered by the Tyrone Township Clerk during the November “even” year election.
