Board of Zoning Appeals
The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) has the responsibility for ensuring that the zoning ordinance is properly and fairly applied. The need for the BZA is based on the realization that a single set of regulations cannot anticipate every potential condition related to individual properties and uses. The most common action by the board is the consideration of variances. The Board of Zoning Appeals has a quasijudicial function and must act objectively when evaluating an appeal.
