The office of the Village Clerk serves as the information center of the Village and the day-to-day administrative duties.  The Clerk’s duties include records management  such as meeting minutes, ordinances, resolutions, deeds and agreements.  The importance of recording and preserving the official action of the Village’s legislative body cannot be overstated.   Years from now all that will remain of the Village documents will be these records.  The Clerk is responsible for the preparation of the Council meeting agenda packets, meeting notices, public hearings, and administration of the oaths of office.  Presents proposed budget to Village President.

The Clerk is the designated Freedom of Information Coordinator for the Village of Kent City.  Some inquiries may require a Freedom of Information request.

Sping/Summer Reminders:

Yard waste is the number one question we get calls about. The Village provides the service of picking up brush and grass clippings. The Yard Waste Policy is available on the website or by contacting the Village Office for a copy. This service does not include trees that you have taken down or major trimming. The Village has a secured area where you can dump tree debris. Contact the DPW Manager @ 616-293-0693 to make arrangements. Other issues: Before planting trees, bushes, and sprinkler heads make sure they are on your property and not in the Village right-of-way.
